Our love story with Bali began in 2011, the moment we set foot on this enchanting island. We were instantly captivated by its breathtaking landscapes; lush rice terraces stretching as far as the eye can see, mystical temples shrouded in incense, and pristine beaches kissed by the warm embrace of the Indian Ocean. But beyond its natural beauty, what truly stole our hearts was the soul of Bali: its deeply rooted traditions, its rich and authentic culture, and, above all, the kindness and warmth of its people.
Year after year, we found ourselves drawn back to this island, each visit deepening our connection. Every trip was an opportunity to explore further, to immerse ourselves in the daily life of the Balinese, to understand their philosophy of harmony and balance, and to witness the magic hidden in the simplest moments a morning offering placed with care, the laughter of children playing in the rice fields, the chants of a temple ceremony at dusk.
In 2018, what was once a cherished travel destination became our home. By then, Bali and the surrounding Indonesian islands had become an integral part of our lives. We ventured beyond the well-known spots, uncovering secret beaches, remote villages, and traditions that few travelers get to experience. Each island revealed a different facet of Indonesia; Komodo’s wild landscapes, Java’s majestic volcanoes, Sumba’s ancestral rituals, and Raja Ampat’s mesmerizing underwater world.
With time, a dream started to take shape. Our passion for travel, adventure, and meaningful encounters, combined with our deep love for this part of the world, naturally led us to create Desa Voyages. In Indonesian, "desa" means "village," a name that perfectly reflects our vision: an invitation to discover Bali and Indonesia in a more intimate, authentic way, far from mass tourism.
Through Desa Voyages, we want to share with you the Indonesia we know and love; the hidden gems, the untouched nature, the local traditions, and the incredible people who make this archipelago so special. Whether it’s exploring forgotten jungle trails, experiencing the vibrant energy of a Balinese ceremony, sailing between remote islands, or simply sharing stories over a cup of local coffee, our goal is to offer you a journey that goes beyond the ordinary.
